Making melange yarns means colouring the cotton at cotton ball level, mixing more colours to get the right nuances and colourplays and then spinning the cotton to yarns. Facts about Farming with Care (GOTS)

Our GOTS-certified organic cotton means that the cultivation of cotton is done with no use of fertilizers, pesticides, GMO, and other substances harmfull to our environment. It also means that:

- The cotton crop is rain fed which means that it is not erigated with additional water, like conventional cotton.

- Cotton is handpicked, so the soil and plants are not harmed by machines, and can be used again and again.

- Farming is regenerative and cultivated as 'multi crop' with min. 2-4 different crops. This protects the soil from being exhausted, holds moist in the ground longer and also gives farmers good use of their land out of cotton season.

- Less waste - Using the full crop

Once the cotton balls have been picked they are sorted and carted so only the long high quality fibres are used to make thread for our garments. The short and darker parts are used as filling, for example in our fine quilt blankets and the locals use it for matresses. Finally the seeds are pressed to make oil used in the local cusine.
